A campaign initiated to promote the implementation of animal welfare standards for layer hens within Indonesia’s egg farming industry by adopting a cage-free system, where hens are not confined in cramped battery cages.

ABOUT US

PASI The Indonesian Humane Chicken Association is a civil society coalition movement based on individual membership, established to support animal welfare principles and standards within Indonesia’s poultry industry.

VISION

The realization of the implementation of the highest animal welfare principles and standards for broiler and layer chickens throughout the entire commercial poultry industry and supply chain in Indonesia, contributing to the improvement and protection of public health and the environment.

MISSION

  1. Conducting public, consumer, and corporate awareness campaigns on the importance of implementing the highest animal welfare principles and standards for broiler and layer chickens in Indonesia.
  2. Encouraging and supporting the commitment, initiatives, and responsibilities of industries and business actors in mainstreaming and implementing the highest animal welfare principles and standards for broiler and layer chickens in Indonesia. 
  3. Supporting the government in the evaluation, advocacy for improvement, phasing, and implementation of animal welfare policies across the entire commercial poultry industry and supply chain involving broiler and layer chickens in Indonesia.

We have carried out several activities to build team capacity and raise public awareness. Some of these include internal training sessions, community outreach with mothers in the Kalibata area of South Jakarta, discussions with university students, and educational activities during Car Free Day in Sudirman, Central Jakarta.
